NuroKor Femtech has been named one of the 44 most innovative femtech companies in the UK and Europe! Our groundbreaking work in developing wearable technology that can help women around the world manage various health conditions, including menstrual pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, and more has been recognised as part of TechRound’s FemTech44.
We’re hugely grateful to TechRound for recognising the waves that we are making in the femtech space and our goal of supporting women to live healthier, happier lives.
We are poised to make a significant impact on the femtech industry through addressing a wide range of unmet health needs with accessible and effective solutions, powered by our signature drug-free, non-invasive technology.
What is Femtech?
Femtech is a term used to describe technology-based products and services that are designed specifically for women's health and wellness needs. This includes everything from reproductive health and fertility to menopause and sexual wellness.
According to a report by Frost & Sullivan, the global femtech market is expected to reach $50 billion by 2025. This growth is being driven by a number of factors, including increased awareness and acceptance of women's health issues, as well as advancements in technology that have made it easier to develop and distribute femtech products.
NuroKor Femtech: an innovative femtech company
How NuroKor’s technology helps women’s health
Our technology uses therapeutic electrical currents to tackle a wide range of health issues by mimicking and influencing the body’s own bioelectric processes. This approach allows us to deliver drug-free therapies that are also completely non-invasive - they only require a conductive pad placed on the skin - and that support the body.
We develop specific formulations of these therapeutic currents to target particular issues, such as pain, recovery and inflammation, along with advanced software that controls their application. It has been shown to be effective for managing pain, promoting wound healing, optimising recovery, and reducing inflammation, meaning that our technology can address not just symptoms but the cause as well.
The success of this technology has been shown with our NuroKor Lifetech devices, as well as EquiPod, and we’re now tailoring it for women’s health issues, ranging from menstrual health to endometriosis.
Mihna - the menstrual health solution
The expertise that we’ve amassed, along with our continuing research, is now culminating in our first femtech offering, Mihna. A game changer for women everywhere and in how we address women’s health inequalities, Mihna will offer our signature technology to help manage menstrual health and tackle issues that can arise, such as period pain, all controlled through an easy-to-use app with distinct treatment modes for specific problems.
As an idea of the scale of the problem, on average, 55% of women worldwide suffer from period pain and it leads to missed school, work and social activities, negatively impacting the lives of millions worldwide and leading to inequalities in education and the workplace.
What makes this problem worse is that there is no consistently effective treatment for menstrual health issues. Many women are misdiagnosed or their experiences are dismissed - endometriosis, for example, takes eight years to be diagnosed on average. Worse, painkillers don’t always work, with some research suggesting as many as 50% of women still experience period pain after taking NSAIDs; and other options recommended are hot baths or hot water bottles.
Simply put, a better option is needed for women to manage their menstrual health, and Mihna will provide that - tackling causes as well as symptoms with drug-free, non-invasive therapies.
Beyond therapy for the individual, Mihna will also bring women worldwide together as part of the Mihna community, a platform where people can share their stories and experiences, as well as directly contributing to research into women’s health conditions. The Mihna community, AI, and machine learning will collectively refine and improve our therapeutics to make sure we are providing the most effective treatments possible.
